My Credit Tree, its websites and affiliates take privacy very seriously and feel that it is a vital part of our relationship with our customers. We take your personal privacy with the up most seriousness.  We strive to safeguard your privacy, while offering you opportunities to apply for credit to obtain an automobile loan through our network of participating auto dealers nationwide and affiliate partners.

In association with your application for credit, My Credit Tree may acquire information about you, which is handled as stated in this notice.

We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:

1. Uses of Information - We use the information provided by you on the application form to assist in finding financing of an automobile within our national new and used car dealer network or one of our affiliate partners. We also use this information to present other offers of interest that you have not specifically opted out of.
2. Information we receive from you on the actual credit application, such as Name, Address, Monthly Income, Social Security number, date of birth, etc. Social Security Numbers are required on the application form. When you enter your social security number on our form, we encrypt it using secure socket layer technology (SSL).
3. Personally identifiable information - We share personally identifiable information with partners as it relates to offers and promotions where you have opted in.
4. We request your authorization to receive information from a consumer reporting agency (credit bureau). That authorization is transmitted to a participating automobile dealer or affiliate partner in our network, who will actually request and receive your credit report.
5. Correspondence - The information you provide when communicating in writing, by phone or online with our customer service representatives. We do share information about our customers, their accounts or transactions to others for their use as described in this Privacy Policy.

We maintain strict physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with all state and federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.

When we do share information that you provide to us, it is limited to the information necessary for the particular circumstance and only under strict controls to prevent misuse.

We use this information to evaluate your application, and to locate a participating auto dealer or affiliate partner who can continue the process of assisting you in obtaining an auto loan or purchasing an automobile. With your consent, we may inform you of offers for other services offered by third parties.

Choice/Opt-Out
Our site provides users with the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communications from My Credit Tree and/or our marketing partners, at the point where we request information about the visitor. By selecting the unsubscribe option below to remove their information from our database to not receive future promotional communications.

My Credit Tree updates this policy from time to time so please check our Privacy Policy link on the website periodically for amendments.

From January 1, 2005, California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits customers of My Credit Tree who are California residents to request certain information regarding its disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, please write us at: info@mycredittree.com.  Within 30 days of receiving such a request, we will provide a list of the categories of personal information disclosed to third parties for third-party direct marketing purposes during the immediate preceding calendar year, along with the names and addresses of these third parties. This request may be made no more than once per calendar year. We reserve our right not to respond to requests submitted other than to the address specified in this privacy policy.

We provide you the opportunity to 'opt-out' of having your personally identifiable information used for certain purposes, when we ask for this information. For example, if you complete our loan application but do not wish to receive any additional marketing material from us or our partners, you can indicate your preference to opt-in or opt-out on our application form. Non-Personally Identifiable Information

Cookies
"Cookies" are small computer files which are automatically placed on your computer's hard drive when you are connected to a website.  When this information is stored on your computer our system is able to recognize your browser and in turn customize content for you. We will not use any cookies to retrieve data from your hard drive or obtain any sensitive information about you. IP Address. We collect your IP (Internet Protocol) address to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer this Site. An IP address is a number that is assigned to your computer when you use the Internet. Your IP address is also used to help identify you during a particular session and to gather broad demographic data.

Clear GIFs. We use a common technology known as a “Clear GIF” or “1-by-1 Pixel” on the Site and in e-mail communications with users. A Clear GIF, or “graphic interface format” is a small graphic (in fact, truly a 1x1 pixel) that we (or our partners) place on a page of the Site. We may also occasionally place GIFs in e-mail messages that we send to users. GIFs, which do not contain any PII, provide us with important information about how users use the Site and respond to e-mail messages. With this information, we are better able to track the performance of certain promotions and understand the effectiveness of particular creative e-mail presentations. We may also allow our advertisers and promotional partners the ability to use GIFs on the Site solely to track users who link from their respective sites to this Site, but this ability to track such activity does not allow these entities access to user PII.

Although the information collected through the foregoing methods does not itself contain any PII, we may analyze and match such information with other information that you provide on this Site (including PII) as well as information that we may obtain elsewhere, and we may share all or some of such information with partners, prospective partners, and other affiliated or unaffiliated third parties.

We may also disclose non-personally identifiable information in order to (1) comply with applicable laws, (2) respond to governmental inquiries, (3) comply with valid legal process, or (4) protect our rights or property, this Site and/or users of this Site.

Sharing Information
My Credit Tree may disclose information about you to the following types of third parties: My Credit Tree affiliates- auto dealerships or other lenders in your region who may be able to assist you in the auto loan application process.

This Privacy Policy applies to consumers that have signed up on the My Credit Tree affiliated websites. We may use the personal information that you supply to us and work with other third party businesses to bring selected retail opportunities to our members via direct mail, email and telemarketing. These businesses may include providers of direct marketing services and applications, including lookup and reference, data enhancement, suppression and validation and email marketing.

My Credit Tree does not knowingly offer its credit applications to minors.

Who Owns Information Once It Is Submitted

Once it is stored in our database, information, including your name, e-mail address, and home address becomes the property of My Credit tree. Pertinent information may be passed on to marketing and fulfillment parties. Once one of these entities receives this information, it becomes subject to their own respective privacy policy, in addition to the site in which the data was collected.

At our sole discretion, we may transfer, assign or sell information collected on and through this Site, including without limitation, personally identifiable information and other information, to one or more third parties, as a result of our sale, merger, consolidation, change in control, transfer of substantial assets, reorganization or liquidation.

This Web site may contain links to other sites that are not owned or controlled by My Credit Tree. Please be aware that we, My Credit Tree, are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites.

We Do Not Intend to Collect Data From Children

The information and services provided by My Credit Tree, our affiliates, sponsors and advertisers are not intended to be viewed by children under 18 years of age. Use of the Site, is neither intended for, nor directed to, children under the age of 18. No information collected from children is knowingly used for any promotional or marketing purposes in any way, either within or outside My Credit Tree.

Security
The security of your personal information is important to us. Indiana Applicants:
For Indiana residents, My Credit Tree and its dealer affiliates have express permission to contact you by telephone, provided you have given your telephone number in the application.

New York Applicants:
In connection with your application for credit, the dealer to whom this application is delivered may request a consumer report, which contains information on your credit worthiness, credit standing, personal characteristics and general reputation. If the dealer grants you credit, it (or its assignee) may order additional consumer reports in connection with any update, renewal or extension of the credit. If you ask the dealer, it will tell you whether it obtained a consumer report and, if it did, it will tell you the name and address of the consumer reporting agency that gave it the report.

California Applicants:
If you are married, you may apply for a separate account.

Wisconsin Applicants:
No provision of a marital property agreement, a unilateral statement under Wis. Rev. Stat. § 766.59 or a court decree under Wis. Rev. Stat. § 766.70 adversely affects the interest of the creditor unless the creditor, prior to the time the credit is granted, is furnished a copy of the agreement, statement or decree or has actual knowledge of the adverse provision when the obligation to the creditor is incurred

Ohio Applicants:
The Ohio laws against discrimination require that all creditors make credit equally available to all credit worthy customers, and that credit reporting agencies maintain separate credit histories on each individual upon request. The Ohio civil rights commission administers compliance with this law.

Vermont Applicants:
By submitting my (our) application, I (we) authorize the dealer I chose on my (our) application and its employees, agents and potential assignees to obtain and verify information about me (us) (including one or more credit reports, information about my (our) employment and banking and credit relationships) that any of them may deem necessary or appropriate in evaluating my (our) application. If my (our) application is approved and credit is granted, I (we) also authorize such parties to obtain additional credit reports and other information about me (us) in connection with reviewing the account, increasing the available credit on the account (if applicable), taking collection on the account, or for any other legitimate purpose.
 
Rhode Island Applicants:
A consumer report may be requested in connection with this application.

Changes in this Privacy Statement
If changes are made to our privacy policy, we will amend this privacy statement or other places we deem appropriate so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
